Overview

The Weatherford College Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Early Childhood Education and Teaching (BAAS ECET) is a comprehensive, THECB-approved bachelor’s degree program that prepares future educators to meet the diverse needs of Texas classrooms. The program provides a seamless, stackable pathway that begins with an associate’s degree and builds through upper-division coursework in child development, teaching methods, and family and community engagement. Grounded in the principles of instructional quality, student success, and public service, the BAAS ECET program equips candidates with the knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions necessary to create inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and high-impact learning environments for young children.

Career Options

This degree prepares students to become educators with the potential to earn certifications in EC-6, special education, and English as a second language with our Educator Preparation Partner, the Texas Institute for Teacher Education.
