Admission to the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Early Childhood Education and Teaching (BAAS ECET) program and the Weatherford College Educator Preparation Program (WC EPP) is competitive and aligned with the academic, behavioral, and professional standards established in 19 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §227.1 and §227.10. Because candidates earn both a bachelor’s degree and teacher certification through this dual-enrollment model, all applicants must meet minimum program qualifications and participate in a structured, multi-step application process.
Application Process
Step 1: Verify Eligibility
In accordance with Texas Administrative Code §227.10(a)(1)–(6), all applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- 2.75 GPA
- 60 Earned Credit Hours
- TSI Compliance
- Prerequisite Courses (C or higher)
- BIOL 1408 Biology for Non-Science Majors
- EDUC 1301 Foundations of Education
- EDUC 2301 Introduction to Special Populations
- GEOL 1403 Geology I
- MATH 1350 Mathematics for Teachers I
- MATH 1351 Mathematics for Teachers II
- PHYS 1415 Physical Science
STEP 2: Enroll at Weatherford College.
Students not currently enrolled at WC apply by completing the Coyote Recruit admissions application. Detailed instructions can be found here.
STEP 3: Collect Required Documentation.
You will be asked to upload the following documents during the online application. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
- Transcripts
- Acknowledgement of Professional Dispositions, Conduct Expectations, and Dismissal
- PCHE Acknowledgement
- Academic Reference Form
- Professional Reference Form
- Writing Sample Template
- Valid Government-Issued Photo ID
- Additional Requirements for Non-U.S. Citizens
- English language proficiency documentation (TOEFL iBT)
- Proof of legal residency and authorization to work in the U.S. (Form I-766/EAD)
- A foreign credential evaluation by a TEA-approved agency (Approved Agencies)
STEP 4: Complete an Application.
Fill out the application below. All required qualifications (Weatherford College ID# and email address) and documents (transcripts, acknowledgements, academic reference, professional reference, writing sample, valid government-issued photo ID, and additional credentials for non-U.S. citizens if applicable) must be submitted along with the application. Only candidates with complete applications will be considered for admission.
