APPLICATION PROCESS

STEP 1: Confirm Compliance with Minimum Qualifications.

2.75 GPA

In accordance with Texas State Board of Teacher Certification guidelines, applicants must have a minimum of 2.75 GPA to be considered for admission.

60 Earned Credit Hours

A minimum of 60 credit hours as of May 2024 is required.

TSI Compliance

Applicants must be TSI compliant in mathematics, reading, and writing.

Prerequisite Courses

Applicants must earn a C or higher in BIOL 1408, EDUC 1301, EDUC, 2301, GEOL 1403, MATH 1350, MATH 1351, & PHYS 1415 to qualify for admission. Candidates who lack prerequisite coursework may be conditionally accepted and advised to take leveling courses.

STEP 2: Admission to Weatherford College

Students not currently enrolled at WC apply by completing the Coyote Recruit admissions application. Detailed instructions can be found here: wc.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/new-student-checklist.php.

STEP 3: Collect Required Documentation.

Please ensure that the following documents ready to upload BEFORE accessing the application -

An academic reference is a recommendation from a teacher, professor, or academic advisor who can attest to a student's academic performance, potential, and sustainability to further study or scholarship opportunities. STEP 4: Complete an Application.

Fill out the application.  All required qualifications (Weatherford College ID# and email address) and documents (transcripts, writing sample, academic reference, and professional reference) must be submitted along with the application.  Only candidates with complete applications will be considered for admission.

STEP 5:  Sit for an Interview.

The top 35-40 candidates will be invited to interview. Invitations will be sent via email.
