Overview of Clinical Sites
Clinical sites for the DMS students are located up to 80 miles from Weatherford College. All students will complete clinical rotations at a variety of sites, including both outpatient facilities and hospitals. Most clinical sites are located throughout the DFW Metroplex and surrounding areas, including but not limited to:
- Arlington
- Azle
- Burleson
- Cleburne
- Dallas
- Decatur
- Denton
- Fort Worth
- Frisco
- Granbury
- Hurst-Euless-Bedford
- Mineral Wells
- North Richland Hills
- Southlake
- Stephenville
- Weatherford
Clinical site placement is determined based on each student's performed exams to ensure an equitable scanning experience at graduation.
General Overview of Clinical Days
- First Semester (Fall): Students are on campus two days a week and attend clinicals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students are off on Fridays during their first semester, but encouraged to use this day as a study day.
- Second Semester (Spring): Students remain on campus two days a week and typically attend clinicals on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Third Semester (Summer): Students are on campus one day a week and typically attend clinicals on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students are off on Friday during the summer semester.
- Fourth Semester (Fall): Students are on campus two days a week and typically attend clinicals on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Fifth Semester (Spring): Students are on campus one day a week and typically attend clinicals on Mondays,
Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students are off on Friday during
their final semester.
Additional Requirements if Accepted for Clinical Placement
- Complete a criminal background check and a 10-panel urine drug screen
- Submit proof of up-to-date immunizations including Hepatitis B, TDAP, MMR, influenza and varicella
- Obtain a TB screen test and a back/spine screen
- Submit proof of major medical health insurance and obtain current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR (valid through 2 years)
Information and specifics on obtaining the above criteria will be available to the student upon acceptance to the program. Start-up costs for immunizations, titers, urine drug screen, CPR, back/spine screen, and health insurance varies, but could run as much as $400.
