Mission

In accordance with the mission of Weatherford College, the RN-to-BSN Program is committed to enriching the lives of our students and community through innovative, affordable, and accessible learning and cultural opportunities. We improve the communities we serve through educational excellence and attainment of personal goals. The mission of the Weatherford College RN-to-BSN Program is to produce professional nurses committed to improving the health of individuals, groups, and communities. As professional nurses, our graduates effectively practice within complex healthcare systems and assume the roles of member of the profession, provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, and member of the health care team.

We will be recognized as leaders committed to providing high quality nursing education to our community and beyond by producing graduates fully capable of providing optimal care and dedicated to lifelong learning.

Philosophy

Nursing is a patient-centered practice discipline built upon a solid foundation of knowledge in the liberal arts and sciences. The RN-to-BSN Program expands upon prior knowledge and skills through the integration of research‐based evidence and community health promotion. Our program produces nurses who competently and compassionately provide care to individuals, families, communities.

We believe nurses are patient advocates who work toward health promotion, health restoration and disease prevention as part of the health care team.

We believe utilizing student-centered, adult learning principles produces an environment where students engage with faculty in active learning. Mutual respect and shared responsibility fosters personal and professional growth, clinical reasoning, ethical conduct, and encourages lifelong learning.
