Mission

In accordance with the mission of Weatherford College, the RN-to-BSN Program is committed to enriching the lives of our students and community through innovative, affordable, and accessible learning and cultural opportunities. We improve the communities we serve through educational excellence and attainment of personal goals. The mission of the Weatherford College RN-to-BSN Program is to produce professional nurses committed to improving the health of individuals, groups, and communities. As professional nurses, our graduates effectively practice within complex healthcare systems and assume the roles of member of the profession, provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, and member of the health care team.

Philosophy

Nursing is a patient-centered practice discipline built upon a solid foundation of knowledge in the liberal arts and sciences. The RN-to-BSN Program expands upon prior knowledge and skills through the integration of research‐based evidence and community health promotion. Our program produces nurses who competently and compassionately provide care to individuals, families, communities.

We believe nurses are patient advocates who work toward health promotion, health restoration and disease prevention as part of the health care team.

We believe utilizing student-centered, adult learning principles produces an environment where students engage with faculty in active learning. Mutual respect and shared responsibility fosters personal and professional growth, clinical reasoning, ethical conduct, and encourages lifelong learning.

- Continuing Accreditation

The RN-to-BSN Program at Weatherford College is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The RN-to-BSN Program has been granted Continuing Accreditation through 2034 by the ACEN Board of Commissioners.

Program Outcomes

The program tracks completion rate and employment rate for each cohort of students.

Program Completion

On time completion is calculated as completion within the expected time frame for the program option calculated from the first day of the first nursing course.

 *Completion rate was calculated by program completion within four semesters based on the ACEN definition of on-time completion at that time.

Job Placement

Percentage of graduates employed in the field of professional nursing within one year of graduation.
