Weatherford College does not require students to have the COVID vaccine to attend
classes. However, it has become increasingly difficult for the Health Science students
to participate and complete the clinical portion of their programs of study, based
on the COVID vaccine requirements of our clinical partners. Students will show proof
they have received the COVID vaccine to be considered for acceptance to all Health
Science programs. This extraordinary requirement will be reconsidered when our clinical
partners change their policies.
Admission to the college does not guarantee entrance into the PTA program. The PTA program accepts 20 students a year in the fall semester. Admission to the college does not guarantee entrance into a particular course or program of study. Applications to the PTA program are accepted from Dec. 1 to March 1 for the fall class.
The first thing to do is to sign up and attend an information session about the program and how to apply.
Since we have more applications than we do slots in the program we want to make sure we let people in the program we know can make it through. Acceptance into the program is determined by a point system based on the following chart. Not all applicants will progress to the interview stage of the process; the top 30-40, Points are based on scores on the HESI A2 test, grades in anatomy and physiology, completion of the other three general education courses and having a complete application. The top 30-40 applicants with the highest points are selected to interview and complete a written essay. Those points are then added and the top 20 applicants are offered a spot in the program.
