Overview

A career in modern information systems management and support is possible by starting with an Associate of Applied Sciences degree from Weatherford College in Information Systems.

This program develops students' abilities to conceptualize, design, and employ information systems. The concepts included in this program will expose students to current concepts of information processing including current application software, database design and programming, management of internets and intranets, and web design and programming. Graduates are prepared for entry-level employment within the growing information technology (IT) field.

Career Options

Graduates with an A.A.S. degree in Information Systems are prepared to work as beginning computer programmers, junior systems analysts, web site managers/designers, operations trainees and network trainees. This program offers an opportunity for the currently employed information systems professional to update basic skills and to learn new languages, allowing for a great deal of lateral and upward mobility.

Employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 11 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. These occupations are projected to add about 531,200 new jobs.
