The BAT-MHSM program provides students with the opportunity to specialize their studies by selecting a concentration in Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, or Accounting. Each concentration equips students with in-depth knowledge and skills tailored to the needs of modern healthcare management.
Students entering the Bachelor’s in Medical and Health Services Management program and require Prescribed Electives to graduate, can choose to enhance their academic and professional profiles by selecting a concentration in Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, or Accounting. Each concentration requires 9 units of coursework, subject to Program Director approval. For those students that don’t require Prescribe Electives as part of the graduation requirement, contact the Program Director for advisement.

Reflect on your long-term professional aspirations to select the concentration that aligns with your interests:
o If you’re passionate about healthcare technology and systems, choose Information Technology.
o If protecting healthcare data and compliance is your focus, Cybersecurity is ideal.
o If you aspire to lead financial operations, consider Accounting.

Schedule a meeting with the BAT-MHSM Program Director to discuss your career goals, learn about current industry trends, and finalize your concentration choice. - Create a Concentration Plan:
Work with your advisor to develop a personalized plan that includes:
o Your chosen concentration.
o Three courses (9 units) relevant to your focus area.
o A justification for how the courses align with your academic and career objectives.
- Seek Approval and Enroll:
Submit your concentration plan to the Program Director for approval. Once approved, enroll in the selected courses, and begin your journey toward specialization. - Ongoing Review:
Throughout the program, regularly meet with your advisor to assess your progress, refine your plan, and ensure alignment with evolving career goals.
