Accreditation Information
Weatherford College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The Weatherford College Wise County (WCWC) Radiography Program is currently in the initial accreditation application process with the Joint Review Commission on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The program is not currently accredited by JRCERT; initial accreditation will be determined following completion of the JRCERT accreditation review process. Mission Statement
The Radiologic Technology Program continues the mission of the Health and Human Sciences Division at Weatherford College by offering students a quality education in the radiological sciences.
Requirements
Listed below are some of the physical requirements that are required of a radiologic technologist. If you are unable to meet these requirements, you will be referred to the ADA department:
- Physically lift 50 pounds or more routinely
- Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Be able to perform CPR if needed
- Be able to bend, stoop, push, and pull routinely
- Be able to assist patients throughout exams in the healthcare setting
- Be able to move heavy equipment into confined spaces
- Have the hearing ability to hear alarms and must be able to hear a person speak in a normal audible voice without observing the person's face.
