Overview

Weatherford College offers a Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN) to Registered Nurse (RN) Transition Program.

After completion of a LVN program, passing the Licensed Vocational Nurse-National Council of Licensing Exam (LVN-NCLEX) and completion of specific general education courses, the program consists of one year - three consecutive semesters of coursework. With successful completion of all course and program requirements, the student will earn an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree and be eligible for the RN-NCLEX. Upon passing the RN-NCLEX the student will be a RN.

After completion of the first semester/level, if the student is making good grades and receives a letter from their first semester/level instructor, the student may start taking their BSN courses. (Subject to the ADN Director's approval).
