Overview

This program will teach the fundamentals of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. It will teach basic electrocardiography procedures, help interpret basic dysrhythmias and the different treatment options. Program will begin the FALL 2026

Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician is a Hybrid course: 
  • 30 hours On-Line
  • 40 hours In-Person

Requirements

  • Applicants must complete the EKG program application before they can be admitted into the program and are eligible for registration.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma, HSE/GED - Unofficial copy can be uploaded
  • Driver's License or Government Photo ID - must be valid
  • Signed copy of Social Security card - MUST BE SIGNED
  • Current BLS CPR card (must be from American Heart Association) 
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background Check - completed form to be processed by WC

Career Options

After completing this program, you will receive a certificate of completion from Weatherford College. You will be qualified to take a national certification exam offered by National Association for Health Professionals to be a certified EKG technician.

Funding assistance through the Workforce Education Grant and Weatherford College Foundation Scholarship for Workforce Education may be available for eligible applicants, until funds are depleted.
