Overview

This program will teach the fundamentals of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. It will teach basic electrocardiography procedures, help interpret basic dysrhythmias and the different treatment options. This class is not offered as stand alone class at this time, it is a part of the Clinical Medical Assistant program.

Requirements

Applicants must complete the EKG program application before they can be admitted into the program and are eligible for registration. Must be 18 years of age or older, high school diploma or GED, photo id, social security card, current BLS CPR card (must be from American Heart Association) and pass a criminal background check.

Career Options

After completing this program, you will receive a certificate of completion from Weatherford College. You will be qualified to take a national certification exam offered by National Association for Health Professionals to be a certified EKG technician.

Scholarships

Funding assistance through the Workforce Education Grant and Weatherford College Foundation Scholarship for Workforce Education may be available for eligible applicants, until funds are depleted. This program does not qualify for FAFSA.
