Overview

The Associate of Science—Business Field of Study degree is designed for those students planning to seek a four-year or advanced degree from a college or university. This degree conveys the core curriculum required by universities while allowing our students the foundation of introductory business courses they will need to succeed in a four-year bachelors program. Students completing the A.S. Business Field of Study degree will be prepared to continue into General Business, Marketing, Management, Accounting, Economics and Finance degrees at the university of their choice.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that employment in business and financial operations occupations is projected to grow 5 percent from 2019 to 2029, faster than the average for all occupations, adding about 476,200 new jobs. Globalization, a growing economy, and a complex tax and regulatory environment are expected to continue to lead to strong demand for accountants and auditors. In addition, increasing usage of data and market research in order to understand customers and product demand, and to evaluate marketing strategies, will lead to growing demand for market research analysts.
