Weatherford College is proud to host the 6th Annual Weatherford College International Piano Competition. Three winners will receive cash prizes, trophies, certificates, and masterclasses with judges. The first-place winner will be offered the opportunity to perform a solo recital at WC during the 2024-2025 academic year.
The preliminary round will be an online format. All performances will be judged from their submitted videos. Ten selected finalists will perform live before judges in the Weatherford College Marjorie Alkek Performing Arts Center, Weatherford, Texas on April 20, 2024. Applications and performance videos must be received by March 1, 2024.

Weatherford College International Piano Competition welcomes all pianists of all ages.
- Contestants may choose their repertoire for all rounds.
- Contestants are encouraged to program at least two contrasting pieces for solo piano from two different eras of classical music including Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Twentieth Century.
- Single movements from multi-movement works or sonatas are allowed.
- All works must be performed from memory.
- Repertoire from the preliminary round can be repeated in the finals.
Preliminary Round:
- Video recording of 10-20 minutes of solo piano performance.
- Video must be submitted as a link to YouTube.
Final Round:

Ten contestants will be selected to compete in the final round.

Final performance is not to exceed 30 minutes.

All finalists’ performances are open to the public.

- Non-refundable. Payments are accepted online only through SimpleTix.

All materials, including applications, recordings, and application fee must be received by March 1, 2024,11:59pm (CDT).

All participants must complete and submit the Weatherford College International Piano Competition application online. Payment must be made through SimpleTix. Registration Deadline is March 1, 2024.

Finalists will be notified by March 6, 2024.

Finalists are to confirm attendance by March 9, 2024.

All performing finalists will receive a stipend of $300.

Finalists must be present at the performance drawing party and dinner on April 19, 2024.

Contestants are responsible for their own expenses.

Contestants must be present at the awards ceremony to receive awards, prizes, or recognition.

Judges' decisions on all awards and eligibility will be final.

The Competition reserves the right, without payment of fees, to record and distribute recordings for media and other purposes, including the Internet, and to televise, broadcast, film, record, videotape, photograph, or stream live all stages of the Competition, all prize performances, and concerts.

By applying to the Competition, applicants agree to abide by all the rules and regulations of the Weatherford College International Piano Competition.

All communication, including scheduling for the performing will be conducted by e-mail.
