Weatherford College is proud to host the 7th Weatherford College International Piano Competition. The winners will receive trophies, certificates, and cash prizes, with the first-place winner also offered a concert opportunity to perform at Weatherford College during the 2025-2026 academic year. All finalists will take part in a Q&A session with the judges after the final round.
The preliminary round will take place online, with performances judged based on submitted videos. Twelve selected finalists will perform live before the judges at the Weatherford College Marjorie Alkek Performing Arts Center in Weatherford, Texas, on April 26, 2025. Applications and performance videos must be received by February 15, 2025.

Weatherford College International Piano Competition welcomes all pianists of all ages.
- Contestants may choose their repertoire for all rounds.
- At least two contrasting pieces for solo piano from different eras of classical music (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Twentieth Century) are encouraged.
- Single movements from multi-movement works or sonatas are permitted.
- Pieces may be performed with or without repeats at the contestant's discretion.
- All works must be performed from memory.
Preliminary Round:
- Submit a video recording of 10-20 minutes of solo piano performance.
- The video must be submitted as a link to YouTube; either single or multiple links are acceptable.
Final Round:
- Twelve contestants will be selected to compete live.
- Repertoire from the preliminary round may be repeated in the finals.
- Final performances must not exceed 30 minutes.
- All finalists’ performances are open to the public.

- Payments are accepted online only through SimpleTix.
- All materials, including applications, recordings, and the application fee, must be received by February 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM (CDT).
- All participants must complete and submit the Weatherford College International Piano Competition application online, with payment made through SimpleTix by February 15, 2025.
- Finalists will be notified by March 1, 2025.
- Finalists must confirm their attendance by March 4, 2025.
- All performing finalists who do not receive awards will receive a stipend of $500.
- Finalists must attend the performance drawing party and dinner on April 25, 2025.
- Current and former students of the competition judges are eligible to enter and compete. Judges will excuse themselves from voting for their students.
- Contestants are responsible for their own expenses.
- Contestants must be present at the awards ceremony to receive awards, prizes, or recognition.
- Judges' decisions regarding all awards and eligibility are final.
- The competition reserves the right to record and distribute recordings for media and other purposes, including the Internet, and to televise, broadcast, film, record, videotape, photograph, or stream live all stages of the competition, including prize performances and concerts.
- By applying, contestants agree to abide by all rules and regulations of the Weatherford College International Piano Competition.
- All communication, including scheduling, will be conducted via email.
- The competition reserves the right to make necessary changes as circumstances dictate.
