Alumni Awards

Weatherford College has an outstanding variety of alumni. We enjoy recognizing and honoring several alumni each year to show our appreciation for their contributions to Weatherford College as well as to their communities.

An Alumnus of the Year award and several Distinguished Alumnus awards are presented each year at our annual Alumni Awards Luncheon.

Nomination Guidelines

Weatherford College will honor one person w­ith the Alumnus/Alumna of the Year Award and no more than two Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Awards each year at the college’s annual Alumni Awards event. The Institutional Advancement Office will coordinate the awards.

The Alumnus Award Committee will meet in the early spring to make their determinations. Completed nominations should be sent to the Institutional Advancement Office and may be submitted by anyone.  Nominations are due to the Institutional Advancement Office in the Nan and Bob Kingsley Building by February 1. All decisions made by the committee are final. Alumni awards are not given posthumously.

Individuals will be selected for the award based on the following criteria:

Alumnus of the Year

• The person selected must be a former student of Weatherford College in which WC was a significant part of his/her educational experience.
•  The Alumnus of the Year Award honoree is a person whose life and career is a positive reflection upon their alma mater. Ideal characteristics may include but are not limited to: sustained community service, excellence in their field, leadership in their community and loyalty to Weatherford College.

Distinguished Alumni Awards

• Honorees must be former students of Weatherford College in which WC was a significant part of their educational experience.
• The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes individuals who have achieved excellence in their professions and/or in service to their communities over a sustained period of time.
