Occupational Therapy Assistant is one of the fastest growing professions in the medical
field. The future demand for OTAs is projected to grow faster than the national average
for all professions.
The Weatherford College Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Program is a two-year
curriculum (approximately 20 months after prerequisites are complete) comprised of
classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning experiences. It is located on campus
of Weatherford College. The course of study is designed to prepare the graduate to
work under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist and provide occupational
therapy services to people with physical, mental, emotional or development disabilities.
The Weatherford College OTA Program has been nationally accredited since 2013. Graduates
from the program maintain an excellent pass rate on national licensing board exam.
Weatherford College’s Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program is accredited by
the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American
Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). The program was initially accredited in December
2013. The program is currently on a Probationary Accreditation status. ACOTE’s contact information: 7501 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 510E Bethesda, MD 20814
