Weatherford College continues record-breaking enrollment growth
Weatherford College is poised to shatter its own enrollment records, again, solidifying
its status as the fastest-growing college in North Texas.
As of July 30, a total of 6,117 students were registered for credit-bearing classes for the Fall 2025 semester—a 32 percent increase compared to the same date last year.
This surge in enrollment follows a consistent upward trend. Last fall, WC celebrated an all-time high of 6,602 credit students and 1,142 workforce students. The momentum has continued into 2025, with summer enrollment up 10 percent and fall enrollment already surpassing last year’s pace by a wide margin.
“We are thrilled to see this continued growth,” said Dr. Tod Allen Farmer, president of Weatherford College. “At a time when many colleges across the nation are facing declining enrollment and even closure, WC is thriving. This is a testament to our exceptional faculty and staff, our expanding academic offerings, and our unwavering commitment to student success.”
The college’s growth is fueled by a combination of strategic initiatives:
- Expanded academic programs, including five bachelor’s degrees and high demand associate programs in fields like cardiovascular sonography, cybersecurity and robotics.
- Workforce credential programs that provide fast-track pathways to employment.
- Enhanced campus facilities, including the new Vickie and Jerry Durant Hall and the Emerging Technologies and Workforce Building.
- Award-winning athletics and arts programs, which continue to attract students from across the country and around the world.
Weatherford College serves students from dozens of international countries, and its dual credit partnerships with area high schools remain a vital component of its enrollment success.
Enrollment for Fall 2025 remains open through the first day of classes on Monday, Aug. 25.
