WC theatre presents “Jekyll & Hyde”

October 23, 2024

Dr. Jekyll, played by Logan Thomas, in the moments after taking his experimental formula. He stands behind a lab table filled with beakers and small bottles of random substances

Don’t miss out on the haunting sounds of “Jekyll & Hyde” the musical this weekend in the Alkek Fine Arts Center at Weatherford College.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. this Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. No tickets are needed.

Go back in time to 1886 Victorian London for this stage adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novella “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” and witness the duality of human nature.

Dr. Henry Jekyll, played by Logan Thomas, is fueled by a desire to eliminate every trace of evil from the human spirit and develops a formula that he tests on himself. The experiment backfires, turning him into Mr. Hyde, an incarnation of evil. Eventually, Jekyll has no control over when he changes, and he races against time to find an antidote before he harms the people closest to him.

Other key leads include Kaleb Watson as John Utterson, Emily Farmer/Alanna Miller as Emma Carew and Mia Currie/Elliot Hayes as Lucy.

This production is rated PG-13 for scenes of violence and adult references.

“Jekyll & Hyde” was conceived for the stage by Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn, book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, music by Frank Wildhorn, orchestrations by Kim Schamberg and arrangements by Jason Howland. “Jekyll & Hyde” is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
