WC theatre presents "Bad Auditions by Bad Actors"

Weatherford College Fine Arts presents “Bad Auditions by Bad Actors” April 11-13 at 7 p.m. in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. Admission is free.

The Red Barn Theatre is in serious financial trouble, but there is a sure-fire way of securing a hit: “Romeo and Juliet.” Nervous production assistant Carol Danes has been given a few hours to cast the lead roles, and the actors who come to audition seem extraordinarily impaired. Will she find the right actors, or will her beloved theatre go under?

“I chose this production because it’s an exaggerated version of something that’s very true to life,” said theatre instructor James Brownlee. “The play will be funny to everyone, but it will especially resonate with people who have done theater for any length of time.”

The cast includes Jasmine Houze as Carol Danes, Kaleb Watson as Roger, James Brownlee as Avery Stern, Sage Hale as Melissa/Charlize,  Vance Doerr and Acting Coach/Edmond/Police Officer, Paul Bailey as Joe/Taggart, Lucia McCoy as Josie/Catherine, Atlas Hein as Maria/Uma, Wyatt McElroy as Martin/Quint, Alex McCalla as Meg, Kelsey Carter as Yasmine/Amy, Cameron Walker as Agent/Zeph, Tyler West as Josh/Vance and Oli Flowers as Sue/Wendy.
