WC Summer Stage presents “The Taming of the Shrew”

Weatherford College Summer Stage presents William Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” June 11–14 in the Alkek Fine Arts Center.
Showtimes are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The production is part of the college’s annual Summer Stage series and is open to the public at no cost.
One of Shakespeare’s most widely performed comedies, “The Taming of the Shrew” follows the outspoken Katherina and the determined Petruchio in a fast-moving story built on wit, contradiction and theatrical energy. This production leans into the play’s self-awareness, blurring the lines between performer, character and audience to create a layered, immersive experience.
“What would you do if you were pulled onstage into a show you’d never rehearsed," asked director Aiden Endy. “We want you challenged, surprised, and moved; sometimes in the same breath. Come ready to be uncomfortable. Come ready to laugh. Come ready to be wrong about what you thought you knew.”
Performances will take place in the Alkek Fine Arts Center on the Weatherford College campus. Seating is general admission.
The cast includes Aubrey Ward as Katherina, Nickoli Wooten as Petruchio, Maryn Milligan as Bianca, Lee Rowland as Lucentio, Michael Endy as Baptista, Alicia Duran as Tranio, Joshua Riley as Hortensio, Oliver Flowers as Grumio and Alyssa Sweatt as Sly.
The production team includes Aidan Endy, director; Casie Holiman, assistant director; and Hunter Neal, stage manager.
