WC students win big at NATS competition
Seven Weatherford College voice students competed in the DFW region National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition earlier this semester at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Five students advanced to the final round in the musical theatre division and earned the following rankings: lower-level musical theatre collegiate men’s division — Richard Wooten, first place, and Ethan Sebree, third place; lower-level musical theatre collegiate women’s division — Audrey Randall, second place, Nicole “Nikki” Giunta, fifth place, and Rebekah “Dandee” Nance, honorable mention.
In the classical singing portion of the competition, WC students earned the following rankings: second year collegiate level — Richard Wooten, third place, and Ethan Sebree, fifth place; first year collegiate level — Nicole “Nikki” Giunta, Honorable Mention; second year collegiate — Audrey Randall, first place.
“We were thrilled with these amazing wins,” said Rick Rainey, WC director of vocal studies. “We are so thankful to the fine arts department for all their help and support. What a fantastic learning experience for our students.”
