WC presents theatrical thriller “Wait Until Dark”

Weatherford College Fine Arts presents “Wait Until Dark,” a suspense thriller, April
16–18 at 7 p.m. nightly in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. Admission is free.
Written by Frederick Knott, the classic 1966 thriller follows Susy Hendrix, a blind woman still adjusting to life after a car accident, who finds herself alone in her New York basement apartment and unknowingly in possession of something three dangerous criminals desperately want. What begins as an elaborate con escalates into a harrowing battle of wills, and Susy proves far from helpless.
“I chose this show because it’s incredibly compelling. A seemingly helpless woman is resolute in the face of imminent danger," said theatre instructor James Brownlee. “The play builds to a harrowing final confrontation that audiences won’t forget.”
The production is rated PG.
Aubrey Ward leads the cast as Susy Hendrix, joined by Damien Snell as Sam Hendrix, Savannah Pontremoli as Gloria, Damian Castillejo as Harry Roat, Jon Garza as Mike Talman, Joshua Riley as Sgt. Carlino, and Wyatt McElroy, Sam Woodworth and Karis Morgan as policemen.
Behind the scenes, Oli Flowers directs, with set design by Rickie Noe, costume design by Mia Currie, sound design by Autumn Brown, props by James Brownlee, and audio engineering by Tim Kimsey and Cameron Streck.
