WC’s marketing, PR efforts shine at conference
Weatherford College received top honors at the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 4 conference this week at the Fort Worth Stockyards, bringing home five Medallions, including two gold awards.
NCMPR is the leading organization exclusively representing marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. The District 4 Medallions recognize outstanding achievement in marketing and communications at two-year colleges across Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming.
Weatherford College submitted eight entries and received recognition for five projects:
Gold Medallion - Social Media Profile: Recognizing the college's Instagram account, managed by Director of Public Relations Crystal Woerly.
Gold Medallion - Social Media Post/Story: Honoring a viral video created by Woerly that playfully showcased a Weatherford College police car, garnering millions of views on Facebook and reaching a global audience.
Silver Medallion - Outdoor Signage: For the "Stay Close. Go Far." billboard campaign designed by Katie Edwards, executive director of creative services.
Silver Medallion - Booklet: For the WC baseball media guide, designed by graphic designer Leslie Richardson.
Silver Medallion – Excellence in Writing-Long Form: For a feature on Dr. Leslie Hancock and the Early Childhood Education and Teaching Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree, written by Woerly.
The college will now submit these entries into the national level awards, the Paragons, with winners to be announced at the national conference in New Orleans in March.
“We are honored to have our work recognized at the district level and are excited to compete at the national level,” Woerly said. “This recognition motivates us to continue pushing creative boundaries and delivering exceptional results for Weatherford College.”
