WC Foundation announces 35 percent increase in scholarships
The Weatherford College Foundation awarded $479,645 in student scholarships during
the 2025-26 academic year, a 35.5% increase over the previous year. The most recent
numbers were revealed at the foundation board meeting last week.
Over the past three years, the foundation has awarded more than $1.1 million in scholarships. During the past five years, that total has exceeded $2.1 million.
“The Weatherford College Foundation is making a greater impact than ever before,” said Brent Gough, WCF president. “Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers, we've increased our support by 35%, helping more students pursue their educational goals and creating opportunities that will benefit our community for generations to come.”
The foundation increased scholarship awards while also growing its net assets, which rose 11.3% during the fiscal year that ended Aug. 31.
WC President Tod Allen Farmer said scholarships and other forms of financial aid are benefitting both students and the college.
“An astounding 88% of Weatherford College students now receive grants or scholarships,” he said. “The incredible generosity of our caring donors is changing the lives of more students than ever before.”
