WC choir to present spring concert “Choral Kaleidoscope” May 6
The Weatherford College Concert Choir will present its spring concert, Choral Kaleidoscope,
at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at the Alkek Fine Arts Center. Admission is free and open
to the public.
The program showcases a wide range of choral styles, from an early English madrigal to works by Mendelssohn and Mozart, as well as a spiritual and two selections by contemporary composer John Rutter. The concert also features several surprises designed to highlight the ensemble’s versatility.
In addition to the performance, the concert will recognize students who auditioned for the Texas Music Educators Association Two-Year College All-State Choir, as well as four students who placed in the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition held in March.
“There is something for everyone in this program,” said choir director Rick Rainey. “We hope the community will join us for what promises to be an excellent evening of music.”
