WC alumnus DeWeese to speak at Veterans Day ceremony
Weatherford College invites the community to its annual Veterans Day Observance on
Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11:45 a.m. in the Ed Kramer Veterans Flag Plaza. The free event
will honor the service and sacrifice of all United States Armed Forces veterans.
This year’s featured speaker is WC alumnus, Petty Officer 2nd Class Corde DeWeese who honorably served four years in the US Navy as an aviation technician. He led teams of sailors in maintenance and flight operations, as well as mentoring and developing the next generation of Super Hornet trouble shooters.
DeWeese has travelled across the country performing flight recovery investigations and operations and participated in numerous rescue detachments.
He is a two-time graduate of WC, completing his associate degree Magna Cum Laude and his bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership Suma Cum Laude.
The program will also highlight musical performances, including a selection by the Weatherford College Choir. Additionally, Hadley Kibbe, a WC alumna and the college's assistant rodeo coach, will also sing.
The Kramer Veterans Flag Plaza is located on the south side of the Academic Building on the Weatherford College campus.
