WC Academic Support Center awarded top certifications by CRLA
The Weatherford College Academic Support Center has been awarded certification as a Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 certified tutor training program by the internationally recognized College Reading and Learning Association.
This certification recognizes the Academic Support Center's commitment to providing high-quality training to its tutors and ensuring that they are well-equipped to assist students in achieving academic success.
"We are thrilled to receive this certification from the CRLA," said Shannon Stoker, education department chair. "It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Academic Support Center staff and tutors, who strive to provide the best possible support to our students."
For more than thirty years CRLA has been a leader in learning assistance, reading, and academic support programs with almost 1,300 members and more than 2,000 certified training programs worldwide.
The Academic Support Center has developed a tutor training program that meets CRLA’s rigorous standards and has successfully completed the International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) peer review process. Achieving certification means that the Academic Support Center has met CRLA’s high standards for tutor selection, training, direct service and evaluation as an integral part of their overall tutoring program.
