“Shrek The Musical JR.” hits Alkek stage next week
Get ready for a swamp-tacular adventure with Weatherford College’s Summer Stage teen production of “Shrek The Musical JR.” in the Alkek Fine Arts Center from May 31 to June 2.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or at the box office before each performance.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and the Broadway musical, “Shrek The Musical JR.” is a hilarious and heartwarming show, carefully crafted to be enjoyed by the whole family.
Join Shrek, a lovable but grumpy ogre, on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona and find true acceptance. This irreverently funny show features everyone’s favorite fairytale misfits, catchy musical numbers and a powerful message about beauty being more than skin deep.
The production features music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and is based on the DreamWorks Animation motion picture and the book by William Steig; licensed by Music Theatre International.
