Pianists from across the world to perform at WC’s International Piano Competition

The public is invited to the final round of the 7th annual Weatherford College International
Piano Competition on Saturday, April 26, in the Alkek Fine Arts Center.
The competition begins at 8:30 a.m., with the awards ceremony scheduled for 4:10 p.m.
Admission is free.
More than 200 pianists from 25 countries, including Argentina, Cyprus, France, Greece,
Spain, Mexico, Poland, and Uzbekistan, entered the competition this year.
The 12 finalists are Huan-Ching Chou, Taiwan; Miao Gao, China; Xuanyan Gong, China;
Jonathan Mamora, USA; Adrian King, USA; Dominic Doutney, United Kingdom; Hans-Derek
Yu, USA; Alex Yang, Canada; Nian-Yi Huang, China; Osip Nikiforov, Russia; Kyeongmin
Kim, South Korea; Ikeobasi Ezike, USA.
The final round judges are Jerome Lowenthal from the Juilliard School, John Perry
from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Pamela Mia Paul from the University of North
Texas and Spencer Meyer from Indiana University.
