New Beginnings

March 26, 2024

Spring is a wonderful season! Buds blossom, new leaves grow, flowers bloom, and bird nests are filled with hungry baby hatchlings. Spring is a season for new life, new growth, and new beginnings. The sunshine and green grass are a refreshing change following the cold, gloomy weather of winter. Spring provides pleasant temperatures which encourage people to get active and enjoy the great outdoors. Collectively, these characteristics of spring are both revitalizing and invigorating.

Many animals and insects begin their life cycle in the spring. Vegetable gardeners are busy planting their spring crops, and ranchers are busy pulling calves. Once the spring rains arrive, the plant life really begins to explode. The alternating rain and sunshine create an explosion of life that is magnificent to behold.

Weatherford College has a long history of success, but we seem to be entering a new season that is similar to spring. Our new bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, and workforce programs are breathing new life into academics and expanding students’ educational opportunities. The heightened level of athletic program success is creating a new sense of excitement and student engagement. The explosion of our fine arts programs is expanding cultural opportunities for our stakeholders and raising our institutional profile in the process.

Our beautiful new facilities, enhanced curb appeal, expanded parking, and improved landscaping have made WC an even more desirable college of choice than ever before. The sustained levels of excellent campus safety have reassured loving parents and prospective students alike. Additions like the newly acquired Canyon West Golf Course and the WC Alumni House create excitement and optimism about our shared future.

While these things jointly usher in a new season at Weatherford College, it is the perennial opportunity for students to create new beginnings for themselves that remains paramount. WC has long been the shining light on the hill that serves as a beacon of hope and opportunity. A staggering 85% of WC students are now awarded grants or scholarships. There has never been a better time to acquire an education and realize the American Dream. No matter who you are or where you come from, Weatherford College is the perfect place to create a new beginning.
