Jazz and art fuse in "Synesthesia" at WC
Weatherford College Fine Arts presents Synesthesia, a music and visual art experience, on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. Admission is free.
The evening will include an innovative multi-sensory performance combining live music and spontaneous painting. In this unique artistic collaboration, the WC Jazz Ensemble will perform while painting students will create art inspired by the music in real-time.
“The performance explores the phenomenon of synesthesia - a neurological trait where one sensory experience triggers another, such as ‘seeing’ music as colors,” said art instructor Rebecca James. “The audience will witness the creative process unfold as musicians and painters respond to each other's artistic expressions.”
