Friends and Family
The holidays are filled with many enjoyable sights and pleasures, but none are more meaningful than the memories that we create and share with our friends and family. The season allows for time off from work, holiday decorations both inside and outside of our homes, and a celebratory attitude that spreads throughout the community. The jolly attitude seemingly permeates even the hardest of hearts, and the warm smiles spread the feeling of love.
Travel to these joyful holiday gatherings can be anything but jubilant. Long lines at the airport, delayed or cancelled flights…and we won’t even talk about lost luggage. Of course there is always the option of traveling by car. Those seeking a joyful experience will certainly not find it on the construction packed interstate highway. Between semi-trucks, construction delays, and unbelievably heavy traffic, the highway commute can be miserable…and that is without kids in the back seat screaming, “are we there yet?!”
Yet somehow despite the grueling travel necessary to see our loved ones, the shared holiday experience seems to make everything alright. The laughter ringing out over the holiday feast makes us forget all about any hardships that we experience and somehow reminds us of the value of friends and family.
The Weatherford College culture of caring makes our organizational culture feel like a gathering of friends and family. We have a special group of team members who genuinely care about our students, each other, and our community at large. This caring attitude is also common in our community stakeholders and friends of the college. It is wonderful to be surrounded by such amazing people on a daily basis. Our work family and culture of caring is truly something special.
This holiday season I hope that everyone gets to enjoy interacting with friends and family. May your holidays be filled with laughter and joy, and may 2026 be a prosperous new year.
