Welcome to Weatherford College!

The first thing you should do is access your WC student account, update your password and set up your security authentication methods.  This will be known as your WC Student Credentials. 

  1. Visit Office365
  2. Log into your WC student email account
    Use the credentials from your WC acceptance letter
  3. Click on your Profile (Picture or Initials) in the upper right corner
  4. Click View Account
  5. Locate and click CHANGE PASSWORD
  6. Follow prompts to update your password
  7. Return to View Account
  8. Locate and click UPDATE INFO under Security Info
  9. Add at least one authentication method.  You have 3 to choose from and may choose more than one.
    *Email – use a personal email you have access that is NOT your WC Student Email
    *Phone Number – a mobile phone you can receive texts on
    *Authentication App – you can set one up with Microsoft or add another authentication app you use with your mobile

NOTE 1: The Forgot Password option will not be enabled until you set an authentication method.   

NOTE 2:  Student Account passwords are subject to expiration. Setting up your authentication method above provides an online option to  change an expired password without contacting Technology Services.

Your Weatherford College email account is the only way that the college and instructors will communicate with you. Please check your email frequently!

Sign into your Microsoft Outlook Exchange account online using your assigned email (jsmith.1234@wcstudents.wc.edu) and the password in your acceptance letter or your updated password. 

Student email in your hands, add your WC student email account to an existing email app or add the Outlook app to your mobile device and log in with your WC Student Credentials.

Coyote Connect provides you access to your WC Account, Financial Aid, Course Catelog, Student Planning and Progress.  Log into Coyote Connect with your WC Student Credentials. 


Canvas

Canvas

Canvas will have an online version of every course you enroll in at WC.  Enrolled courses will appear on your dashbord  no sooner than the FIRST DAY of term.   

On the Canvas Dashboard, you will always see the ROOTS classroom.  It contains information related to Student Services, Student Resources, Health and Wellness, Career & Transfer and Student Clubs.  


Office 365 Apps

Office 365 apps

Students may download Office 365 suite apps like Word, Excel,  Power Point, Outlook and Publisher for either PC or Mac on up to 5 computers by following the steps below on the desired computer.

  1. Visit Office365
  2. Log in with your WC Student Credentials
  3. Click on Install Apps located just below your profile
  4. Follow the onscreen prompts to install
  5. Once installed and the first time you access an Office App, provide your WC Student Credentials when prompted.
    *You'll only have to do this once per device

You have access to computer resources and printing at the following locations:

  • Weatherford: Computer access is available in the Library at multiple stations on both floors.
  • Wise County: Computer access is available in the Academic Research Center (ARC)

Before you can print anything, you must first add funds to your WC Print Account. This can be done in two ways:

  • Visit stuprint.wc.edu and add funds to your account using PayPal.
  • Go to any of the Business Offices and add funds in person.

All courses at Weatherford College have an online version of the course in Canvas where students can view their assessment grades throughout the course's term. Additional resources and assignments may also be available depending on the modality of the course and the discretion of the instructor. Below are recommended resources for students to review before the start of the term.

Microsoft's Immersive Reader is an option found on all Canvas Pages as well as a View Option in any Microsoft Word, PowerPoint or Excel document that is uploaded to the OneDrive Cloud. 

Immersive Reader will read the page to you in a male/female voice at different speeds and in the language you choose.

Additional options and peferences:

  • Change the font family, size, spacing, and background color
  • Highlight parts of speech 
  • Add a focus line that shifts as the page is read
  • Translate into any of the 60 languages available

IN CANVAS

Immersive Readers is found on all Canvas Pages.  Look for this button
Immersive Reader Icon 

in the upper right-hand corner of the page.  Click the button turn it on and then select your preferences. 


IN MICROSOFT DOCUMENTS HOSTED IN THE CLOUD

Immersive Reader option is available for any Microsoft document that is hosted on a cloud storage location like on Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive. 

Click on the View Tab > Immersive Reader and then select your preferences. 

For PC

  1. Click on the wireless icon in the taskbar and select WC-Internet.
  2. If a sign-in screen doesn't automatically appear, then open a web browser and go to wifi.wc.edu.
  3. Sign in with your college student or staff account.

For MAC

  1. Click on the wireless icon in the taskbar and select WC-Internet.
  2. If a sign-in screen doesn't automatically appear, then open a web browser and go to wifi.wc.edu.
  3. Sign in with your college student or staff account.

For IOS

  1. Click the settings icon on the home screen, select WiFi, then select WC-Internet.
  2. If a sign-in screen doesn't automatically appear, then open a web browser and go to wifi.wc.edu.
  3. Sign in with your college student or staff account.

For Android

  1. Click the settings icon, select network and internet, select WiFi, then select WC-Internet.
  2. If a sign-in screen doesn't automatically appear, then open a web browser and go to wifi.wc.edu.
  3. Sign in with your college student or staff account.
