FIRE ACADEMY INFORMATION
The Weatherford College Regional Fire Academy is designed to prepare cadets for a career
as a professional firefighter. Cadets successfully conmpleting the Texas Commission on Fire Protection approved Basic Firefighter Academy are eligible to sit for the State Certification Exam.
Cadets successfully completing the program will obtain college credit and a strong, well-balanced educational background preparing them to serve and protect the community. Cadets will also acquire the technical knowledge needed to combat the fire problems created by modern living.
While this program may not guarantee the cadet a job, it will certainly prepare the cadet for potential employment in the fire service.
Fall academy classes begin in August. Spring academy classes begin in January. We offer both day and night academy classes. There are no academy classes held during the summer.
There are prerequisites for entry into the fire academy. Please contact the academy for more infomration on these prerequisities as well as enrollment information. It is recommended that you contact the academy a miniimum of two month's prior to the beginning of the class for information.
